Overview
Koko Crater, also known as Puʻu Mai, is a prominent tuff cone in the Honolulu Volcanics, located on the southeastern shore of Oahu. It's a popular destination for hiking, primarily due to the Koko Crater Tramway trail, which features a steep, challenging climb of 1,048 steps (railroad ties) to the summit. From the top, hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of Hanauma Bay, Hawaii Kai, and the Pacific Ocean.
